Family You always take a member of your family for granted. Whether parent, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle or cousin - you think that they are always going to be there. It’s a shock when they are not. Your whole family changes in one moment and turns your world upside down. Families are intense. You can’t choose them - you're just stuck with them. You may have had a really good relationship with them, trusting them with so much of your secret worries. They were like a friend to you. Yet sometimes you may have had a stormy relationship with them full of fights. At times you may have even felt like you hated them. Even though, deep down inside part of you did love them. They were part of who you were. It can be hard to watch others in you family struggle to cope with their own grief. You may feel alone, not sharing their views on the person’s death or feeling that you have to be strong for everyone else. At times like these you realise who your friends are, but even then they didn’t understand your relationship with the person you’ve just lost. You feel like they can’t possibly understand what you are going through.
