What Can I Expect At A Humanist Funeral?

Every funeral is different. The humanist visits the family beforehand and writes his service based on what they have told him. Favourite music chosen by the family is played and there is a short welcome and explanation of the service. Poetry may be read out and there is a tribute to the deceased that talks about the life they lived. Family and friends are able to say something if they so wish. There a moment of silence and then words of farewell. There may be a reception after this which is usually announced at the end of the service.
