There are no set rules to this. However the odds are you will be thinking about your loved one anyway so it makes more sense to acknowledge the day as being special. Some ideas are: meet up with people that knew your loved one and talk about them, watch their favourite video, cook their favourite food or take part in an activity that they themselves especially enjoyed.
